Neighborhood Roots System
Exciting Pilot Revitalizes Neighborhoods
Open Table’s Neighborhood Roots System (NRS) equips and mentors faith communities to develop and implement business plans to revitalize their neighborhoods. Piloted in South Phoenix, the NRS unites faith community assets with collaborative partners who provide volunteers, intellectual capital, and networking to resources required for business plan implementation. While in the earliest stages of development and phased rollout, the NRS is already impacting the lives of families in poverty in South Phoenix.

Current NRS collaborators include some 20 South Phoenix faith communities, the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES), the City of Phoenix, the South Mountain Police Precinct, corporations and other nonprofits.
